Dashing off a quick blog post, a great link about the Solstice and some thoughts about the practice of 108 Sun Salutations – I’m doing 108 this year and will report back.
108 is considered an auspicious number all over the world. 108 connects the Sun and the Moon to the Earth. The average distance of the Sun and Moon to Earth are 108 times their respective diameters. There are also 108 sacred points in the body according to Ayuveda and 108 beads on a rosary or mala. Check out globalmala.org for lots more info on Yoga and Sun Salutations – remember to modify as needed, listen to your body, and focus!
You are way stronger than you will ever know. So put on some awesome music and sweat…it’s a great boost to your energy especially with all this soggy weather.
I take 10 pennies, placed on the right side of mat and move one to the left after 10 Sun Salutations. Once all 10 are on the left, you only have 8 to go.
Leave a comment if you finish your 108, I would love to hear your thoughts!
Blessings on this Auspicious Day and maybe we can chase the rain away!!!
